Aluminum and Titanium Anodization

Prerequisite: Chemistry Safety Class, Basic Laboratory Procedures

  • Electrochemical oxidation of aluminum yields a layer of oxide on the surface that can accept dye. The oxide coating can then be chemically sealed to yield a robust colored surface.
  • Class available on request. Will be demonstrated using a small aluminum name tag as well as titanium wire.

See: Science Sunday #7 - Aluminum and Titanium Anodization for more information.
