- Eye Protection and Close-Toed Shoes Required
- Long pants and Lab Coats are recommended but not required
Chemical/Experiment Safety:

Working Alone:
- Working alone is not recommended unless the experiments you are doing pose minimal risk.
- Minors (over 16) MAY NOT work alone and must be accompanied by an adult with scientific training.
- Minors (under 16) will require approval on a case-by-case basis to use the space and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian AND at least one adult with scientific training (which may be the parent/guardian if applicable).
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a community laboratory. DMS science provides training and advice but you are responsible for your own safety while using the space. Approval of an experimental plan by the Science Safety Officer does not imply that the proposed experiments are safe but ONLY that they do not violate science committee area rules and that Science has the capability to deal with the wastes generated. Similar to a community pool with “no lifeguards on duty,” this lab area is run by volunteers and there are no persons on duty responsible for responding to issues you may encounter.
Please email the following to science@dallasmakerspace.org:
