Jack Smith Formally Clarify Spray Paint Rules / Ban Spray paint is not allowed, but it's not explicitly banned in the rules It is well known that spray paint of any sort is banned in the space. (I believe this is a Carrollton city ordinance.)
Although this topics comes up regularly, it is not in our formal rules online. The closest reference is in the woodshop rules. (link)
MOTION: To amend rules and add the following text: Under Code of Conduct: Add section 2.9 Spray Paint Ban
  • Spray paint is not allowed to be stored or used on DMS property or the adjacent property and parking lots. (Due to Carrollton city ordinance spray booth requirements.)

Kobin Caddick Increase budget for Science area fume hood installation Contractors came back with a higher quote; subcontractor is not willing to register with Carrollton TD Industries came back with a quote for $19,940.84 to install the blower unit, rework the existing ducting to code, and install all electrical connections.
Roof mounted blower unit is $4,053.00 from MGC Inc. Blower has already been ordered and should arrive this month.
We still need the landlord's roofer to complete any roofing work.
Proposal: Increase the budget from $15k to $26k to complete the fume hood installation.

Jack move to table pending RDRC quote
We have multiple projects and classes pending completion of the fume hood. no
